  • Purdue University OWL (Online Writing Lab) was one of the first online services for writers and remains one of the most comprehensive with online handouts about writing.
  • International Writing Centers Association lists Writing Centers, both physical and online.
  • bartleby.com links include the American Heritage Dictionary (with some sound files for pronunciation), American Heritage Book of English Usage, Strunk's Elements of Style, Gray's Anatomy, several encyclopedias, quotations, and full text of many literary works.
  • askoxford.com links include the Oxford English Dictionary Online, the Oxford Reference Online, and advice for writers. Oxford University Press is British, so some usages and conventions may differ slightly from their American counterparts.
